Nasal Nebulization.

Patients with chronic or re-occurring nasal sinus conditions such as sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, biofilm buildup, fungal infection or recurrent nasal polyps may need a compounded medication that is compatible with a nasal nebulization device. Nasal nebulization devices deliver active pharmaceutical ingredients to the tissues inside the nasal cavity and sinuses without reaching the patient’s lungs.

Corticosteroids, antibiotics, antifungals and
antihistamines

These are among the most common categories of active pharmaceutical ingredients utilized in compounding for nasal nebulization.

After being selected by the prescriber, the combination of active ingredients are combined into a small capsule. At the time of use, the patient opens the capsule and empties its contents into a saline solution for immediate nasal nebulization.

The compounded formula in capsule form allows Northwest Compounders to assign the maximum beyond use date for a compounded product which can be up to 180 days from the day it was made.

Our most commonly requested formulas for nasal nebulization (non-sterile)

  • Levofloxacin 100mg-Mometasone Furoate 0.6mg Capsules (for nasal nebulization)
  • Tobramycin 125-Budesonide 0.6mg Capsules (for nasal nebulization)
